Insider

Privacy policy

Last updated: 14 April 2026.

Who this covers

This policy is for the Insider Google client. Insider is a local assistant on the owner’s computer. It is intended for the owner’s own Google account.

Google user data we access

With your consent, Insider may access:

How that data is used

Data is used only to perform the task you asked for in the local assistant (for example: search mail, send a message you approved, list upcoming events, open or update a file).

Insider does not use Google user data for advertising, analytics products, credit decisions, or training public AI models.

Storage

OAuth tokens are stored only on the owner’s computer, in that assistant’s profile directory. Message and file contents are not copied to a separate Insider cloud. They are requested from Google when a task runs and may appear in that local session.

Sharing

Insider does not sell Google user data. It does not transfer that data to third parties, except:

Limited use

Insider’s use of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Human access

The owner operates Insider on their own machine and may see Google data that the assistant retrieves for a task they requested. There is no Insider support staff reading your Gmail or Drive.

Revoke and delete

Revoke Insider in Google Account permissions. Deleting the local token files on the owner’s computer removes Insider’s stored Google credentials.
